Cowra Summer Breakout (CSB) is a program run in partnership with Cowra Baptist, Cowra Presbyterian and Cowra Anglican churches and a number of churches from Sydney over the January school holidays which has been running for almost 30 years.
Location & Cost: Currently all CSB events in the week are held at the Cowra Baptist Church property, 2 Bourke St (except for a mid week teens event on Thursday held at Cowra Presbyterian church, 48 Macquarie St). There is no cost to any of the events throughout the week, including events with food (all costs are covered by the churches).
Kids & Teens:
CSB includes a daily program of games, songs and fun where the young people learn about Jesus with a different theme each year. Kids and teens are divided into 3 groups based on school years: K-2; 3-6 & 7-12. The program runs Monday - Friday 9:30am - 12pm, with a special trivia event held on Saturday night (with a movie for the kids) and performances by kids at the Sunday morning service.
Adults & little ones:
Each day while the kids & teens program is running there is an opportunity for adults (young and old) to chat over freshly ground coffee and yummy morning tea at the ‘Coffee Corner’ held onsite, with some fun play for the pre-kindy kids too! There is also an (all in) Trivia Night on Saturday (5pm, includes dinner), a Ladies Craft night on Tuesday 7pm, and a Men’s Meat Night, Friday, 5pm
Overall Aim & Purpose:
It is the desire of all involved from the churches to bless the community of Cowra, to build authentic relationships with people and to share the good news of life to the full in Jesus. Dates for 2026:
The CSB program starts on Monday 12th January and runs the whole week.
